These Three Friends

These three friends
Walk with me
Sally Simplicity
And Prudence Purity

Their intimate mate
Is Harry Humility
We are all bonded together
By our great Majesty

We four are inseparable
So with the uttermost respect
We listen and hear
Daily evaluate and reflect

Prudence Purity
Has a transparent heart
No guile is within her
So as she achieves her unique part
She is not weighed down
By intellectual prowess
She is free from selfish motives
All she touches brings success.

Sally Simplicity
Perceives through a child’s eyes
She is uncluttered and still trusts
Even though the world’s full of lies

She’s basic and plain
Unpretentious and ordinary
Her unique role is fulfilled
Without pomp and ceremony.

Harry Humility
Doesn’t need to have the last say
His teachable meekness
He beautifully displays

These friends of mine
Play on the garden green
Awaiting the time
It does seem
As clutter and confusion
Are present every where
I know my three friends
Of this are aware
As they wait patiently
For us to take their hands
And stroll with them
Through the promised lands.
