The Dance

Have you ever seen
A little Morepork dance
Well come with me
And maybe by chance
We will gaze
Upon a precious scene
And be a richer person
Because of where we've been

Come follow me
On this forest trail
We will search for A GARDEN
Then begin this tale.

In the cool of the evening
We camped by THE STREAM
And in the morning
It appeared like a dream
A beautiful garden
With a plaque on the gate
But what was I seeing
In my still sleepy state
A dear wee morepork
Had left her tree home
And was dancing in THE GARDEN
All on her own.

What we were seeing
Almost made us cry
We asked her her name
And with big tears she did cry

My name is Mandy... And my parents are poor
There are ten in our family... So we can't ask for more
But my whole being... Wants to dance and sing
I would love to be taught... That joy to others I'd bring.
Keep on dancing
We gently said
As a grand thought
Buzzed through our head

Even the flowers in the garden
Complimented her steps
And what she had told us
In our heart we now kept...

Our next camp stop
Was by Sir Eagles home
He had lots of money
And was very well known

He lived on a high hill
So he could see everything
He sent his servant to us
This message she did bring.

'I am aware of Mandy's gifting
Bring her brothers to me
They can work in my garden
And I'll pay them weekly.
I will pay for their schooling
And they will pay for their sister
To attend dancing school'
We stood amazed and kissed her.

We have seen we said
A most beautiful sight
A little bird dancing
At the dawn and twilight

Her natural gifting... Is beyond expression
And to know Mr Eagle is aware... Of her desire for lessons
Makes us so grateful... We will tell her, this day
Moby and Michael her brothers... Have a job, yes with pay...

On the Earths centre stage
Mandy now dances
Her exquisite form and beauty
Enthrals and enchants us

She brings inspiration
By her grace and poise
Her two brothers are no longer
Small owls making a noise
But mature BIG BIRDS
With trees of their own
Raising their families
Thankful they've sown
Many good seeds
In Sir Eagles estate
When they were young
And in a vulnerable state

...Mandy's home garden
Is still over there
She still dances in it
Very aware
That by discipline and practice
And lessons and competitions
And focus and dedication
She's now in a position
To bring inspiration
And light when she dances
Has all this just happened
By fate or a series of chances?

Mandy of course
Speaks the last words
My creator she speaks softly
My hearts desire, heard.
