On Elizabeth’s desk
Was a Golden Pen
It was engraved with her name
Plus the words ‘Mother Hen’

That’s very strange
Were her immediate thoughts
Maybe what I’m to learn
To the very young will be taught

Food warmth and shelter
Are humans basic needs
And chicks do follow
Where ‘mother hen leads’

So she opened her journal
And on the very first page
She wrote very neatly
‘I am twenty three years of age
And I have enrolled
In your ‘Private School
Teach me Your Ways
That I may become A Precision Tool

May I Impart Life
In the most natural way
Give salt, light and fragrance
To lighten pathways…

…She put down her pen
Placed her head in her hands
‘May revival and restoration
Come to Our Land

From this nation
May sparks set on fire
Other revivals
Sovereignly as you require’

…When the conductor entered
He found her fast asleep
He left her some food
But the journal he did keep

…He returned it next morning
With an excellent stamp
And placed on her table
An ornate golden lamp

Nothing like this
Had she ever seen before
On its base was inscribed
‘Love’s Royal Law’
