She Was At A Celebration

She was at a celebration
In the country side
She became aware of the music
But where was the bride?

Five large tables
Adorned the large deck
This overlooked a green pasture
So she strained her neck
And looked everywhere
Oh where could she be?
O how she yearned
That her devotion he’d see

…At the edge of the grass
Was lush green native bush
To the back of her mind
Her sadness she did push

A table was spread
With delicious food
And those who prepared it
Were gracious and never rude

The entrance to this venue
Displayed an avenue of trees
New leaves had been formed
Strong and stately were these

The setting was beautiful
Quite awesome to behold
The canopy, the flowers
More beautiful than she’d been told

…But where is The Bride?
When will she arrive?
The children played happily
As if it was good to be alive…

…Two bouquets of roses
Were presented to her
Then the conductor whispered
“Look no further”

+ I love you +
Was mown in the long grass
Her soul was content
For nothing more could she ask
