Two Small Owls

As two small owls
Hopped along the Bush trail
They shared excitedly
The fairy tales
Yes the awesome happenings
That they had seen
Between the two blades of grass
Were these just a dream?
Or an Inspirational message
For The Human World
So that into Dark gloom
Their people would not be hurled.

They hopped from one foot to another
With absolute glee
Saying to each other
Would Manu believe you and me?

Lets ask our mother
To invite him for tea
He could bless our New Home
In the stately Rimu Tree.

...So it was decided
And they eagerly awaited the day
Every night at bedtime
To their Creator they'd pray
As they were uncertain
If what they saw could be shared
To be ridiculed or laughed at
Was what they most feared.

...Manu arrived
On that summers afternoon
He had cut short his sleep time
As he sensed things would happen quite soon

As they sat at Mothers table
No one did speak
This gracious old owl
Had the most comely of beaks
That's why Ronnie and Reggie
Just sat there in awe
An old bird still so beautiful
Neither had seen before...

Mother chattered cheerily
Throughout that hallowed time
Then she said to her children
Ask Manu, yes that's fine

He watched them intently
As they began to speak
Oh for your guidance
We earnestly do seek

For we were playing
At the garden gate
In the evening
When it was very late

Between two blades of grass
A fairy Kingdom we saw
Magnificent beautiful
We both stood in awe.

We know fairies are 'make-believe'
But what do you think
Into mothers comfortable chair
Manu just seemed to sink
He put up his legs
Spread out his wings
Sweetly smiled
Then said "Our Maker brings
Insights and messages
In many forms
You are privileged children
With a great gifting you've been adorned".

As he lay back in his chair
We could clearly see
He was happy
Even contented as could be.

...Later that evening
Mother gently said
Just before
They went to bed
Only God knows
The real state of This Earth
He is bringing about
Restoration and New Birth.

So what you both see
Between two blades of grass
Share with others
For many are searching and do ask
Many questions
So in a delightful way
Understanding is given
In a form known AS PLAY.
