The Wedding

Do we really believe?
Well here is A Story
About make-believe fairies
And the day their village filled with Glory

The magnificence and grandeur
On This Special Day
Must be shared with all humans
Reggie and Ronnie Morpork, did say.

All the birds and the animals
Were very aware
And so were the Morpork children
Excitement was 'in the air' everywhere...

...In the evening after dinner
While lying on the grass
As the bottom of their garden
After finishing all their tasks

They both heard what sounded
Like Trumpet Blasts
So they carefully looked between
Two blades of grass.

To their utter amazement
They saw Royal Fairy Guards
Leading the way for the King's carriage
In the King's and Queen's Palace yard.

Oh the excitement
It was their daughters wedding day
The princess was to be wed
To her beloved Prince, that day.

Crowds of fairies
Lined the village lanes
Waiting patiently for Princess Sylvia
Singing happy refrains.

There was waving and cheering
Then at the church she stepped out
Countless thousands of fairies
Gave one loud shout.
Her dress was Pure Silk
Entwined with Pure Gold
Her shoes were transparent
Beneath the dresses soft folds.

No one could speak
For the beauty she portrayed
Left thousands weeping
On this beautiful sunny day...

Now was The Time
She had made her choice
As she walked down the isle
The choirs sang with one voice

Oh how beautiful!!!
They stood in awe
Her groom, her beloved friend
Had taught her 'The Royal Love Law'...

...It was a solemn ceremony
The exchanging of vows
Then the Trumpet Blast heralded
The Celebrations that would last for hours...

...What the two small Moreporks
Saw between those blades of grass
They cannot speak about
No matter how much we ask

This Expression of True Love
As they walked down the isle
For all time would make
All the village fairies smile...

...Beyond expression
Beyond human thought
But the Fairy Kingdom knew
Loves pure ways they’d been brought...
