A Small Girl Was Knocking

A small girl was knocking
On her carriage door
It was Christmas Eve
What had she come for?

“I have written you a book”
She said with a smile
'Yes,I'll keep it safe
In my ‘special children’s file'

...She wrote about a butterfly
With colourful wings
It was very pretty
And loved beautiful things

…A troublesome ant
Hated this butterfly
So he was pushed in the river
By the grasshopper nearby…

He then told the ant
To hold on and wait
A long time past
So he was in a bad state

...Then on a rock
Ant managed to climb
He became butterfly’s friend
After that aweful time

…The three went home
And had dinner together
Happily agreeing
That fighting is not clever

…So when a child
Knocks on our door
She may bring ‘A Message’
About Loves Royal Law

…After a near drowning
Our attitude gets rearranged
And when we find a safe rock
Our whole life becomes changed
