Beatrice, Betty and Blanche
Barry, Bob and Benny

‘My beautiful children’
He said with a smile
Then began to speak
For a very long while

‘Mrs Rosella
Is coming to stay
So remember your manners
Your please and thankyou’s always ’

‘I know she is little
And flits frequently
But please welcome her
She will be here for tea’.

…One week past
And all went to plan
After school
Back home they all ran

From there they watched sadly
Their new friend depart
Father Rangi spoke quietly
‘I’ve got some good news to impart’.

‘You have all been invited
To go to The Snow
Rosella lives nearby
And she’ll care for you, I know.

Yes they are having a carnival
And competitions and rides
And Rosella will keep you safe
Close by her side

‘How will we get there?
It’s a long way from home
And we are too scared
To fly on our own.
Maybe we will ask Manu
He is sure to know
Just how six small owls
Can actually get to the snow.

...Manu knew exactly
What to do
But has kept it a secret
From me and you.

But would you believe
The children arrived
Wearing very warm clothing
So that the cold they’d survive.

…Snowmen were built
Rides on boards, enjoyed
Their very own ski instructor
Was employed

Snowballs were thrown
And their sleep was sweet
So many new playmates
They were privileged to meet.

Their snowman and snow lady
On competition day
Won First Prize
As they were special in every way.
With top hat and scarf
And a carrot for a nose
And buttons for eyes
Made us suppose
That the snow lady
With bonnet and red shawl
Standing beside him
Looking grand and tall
Would express
If they could speak
Thankyou Morepork children
For an awesome week.

Only Manu knows
How they flew home
They were sad to go
And leave Rosella alone
But this experience and memory
Is with them to this day
