He Was Bedraggled And Soul WearyHe was bedraggled and soul weary
When he knocked on Manu’s door
Then he turned away
Thinking ‘what am I here for’?
As he walked back down the driveway
The gardener smiled graciously
‘Did Manu’s maid not answer'?
He spoke with kindness and empathy
The gardener straightened his back
And sat on the garden seat
‘In THIS GARDEN, he said
Many precious souls I meet
Come sit with me
Then I’ll show you THE FLOWERS
Manu strolls amongst these
In the evening hours’
Plants, like our wives need tending
For their protection and growth
When a vow is broken
She withers with the breakdown of that troth
When commitment and love
Is watering her every day
She will blossom beautifully
And bless our soul’s in every way
It is so strange
Humans look for something to blame
We all know that the ‘blame game’
Leaves us unfulfilled and lame
Look at the Freesias
Their fragrance brings delight
And so will our God given spouse
When we choose to treat her right’
…’But my wife is unfaithful
He spurted out angrily
I have been loving and committed
To the best of my ability’
‘I thought Manu could help me
As no one is aware
That we ‘keep up appearances’
But intimacy of thought we no longer share’
…The GARDENER gave a big sigh
And a tear fell from his eye
‘OUR CREATOR gives SPECIAL GRACE
To those who continue to try ‘
...Time, eternity and mercy
Met together that day
With a new spring in his step
He continued down the driveway.
