I Spoke To My Chook

I spoke to my chook
“Would you lay me an egg?”
She clucked at me lovingly
‘May I stretch my legs?’

“You will scratch in MY GARDEN
If I OPEN your cage door
To root up THE NEW PLANTS
Is against The Place of Springs law…..

…Well I opened her cage
And she scratched happily
Then she bathed in the hole
Very contentedly

With the egg she laid
I baked some gems
Then penned THIS DITTY
About my FAITHFUL hen

…So where oh where
Do my gifting’s hide
My PASSION is to FLOW
With MY Maker, like a BRIDE

In this relationship
I am FREE
Even to talk with my hen
Quite naturally!!!

…I in Him
And He in me
In this relationship
We grow to maturity.
