This is cake
Number two
With much love
From Mother to you

In a bookstore
We did find
A recipe for a mud cake
With you in mind

We burn't the bottom
Cracked the top
Oh so sadly
It was 'such a flop'

Previously we'd decided
To buy a cake
But home-made is tastier
Than THE FAKE

Instead of remaining
All forlorn
Te Kohanga cake creations
Has been born
