Positive and Negative

Positive and Negative
Fought a subtle war
Negative hit positive
To try and make him sore

Negative then drew his sword
And with a furrow in his brow
Took a swipe at positive
Determined to make him sour

Positive had compassion
He knew dark came before the dawn
Negatives body language
Looked sadly forlorn

When negative swiped at positive
Positive stepped aside
As the pathway she was travelling
Was exciting, beautiful and wide

Negative offered council
Which was full of gloomy despair
Of his own inward fear
He seemed blindly unaware

Positive looked at negative
Bogged in the mire of 'stinking thinking'
Her encouragement and example
Helped him realize he was sinking

His doleful attitude
Could not remain
When he chose only good thoughts
To remain in his re-conditioned brain

...An attitude that is positive
Will pierce through clouds of grey
Bring hope and healing to others
As we seek the HIGHER WAY

Positive was surrounded
By beauty, peace and rest
And her disciplined way of thinking
Gave to her life's very best
