Millicent More-Pork

Millicent More-Pork
Was very distressed
She groomed her feathers
And hurridly did address
Every emotion
That she did feel
‘Oh who can I confide in
My soul pain is so real?’

All of a sudden
There was a knock on her door
‘Oh Manu she cried
I have broken life’s laws
As I’ve become insensitive
Angry even unkind
And daily I pray
That to my own faults I’m not blind’

…As they sat together
In the courtyard outside
Millicent knew
In him she could confide
But she had THE WISDOM
To isolate the root cause
And know why she suffered
So she took a deep breath and paused.

…‘Intimacy of thought and feelings
And a commitment is a must
Without these two
A marriage union is thrust
Onto a pathway
Of anguish and pain’
So Manu, she spoke
‘I made my case quite plain
But I was interrupted
Three times or more
And I could see
His soul was already very sore’

As a great violation
Had taken place
We all reap what we sow
Some things need courage to face.

She told him simply
‘I know I’m not loved
I have been replaced
In no-man’s-land I’m shoved’

…A woman reflects
Her husbands love and stability
Those who’ve been controlled
Neither have the ability
To form lasting relationships
Or remain FAITHFUL and TRUE
And when fanaticism emerges
Just what can one do.

“So you gave him a hiding?”
Manu spoke gently
“You made your stand
At last assertively…”

“No commitment, no marriage
As simple as that”
How grateful she was
That with Manu she could chat
For he listened intently
Focussed on what she was saying
Understood her meaning
What she was conveying
He never interrupted
Never accused with the word ‘you’
In an accommodating way
Heard both points of view

His Father’s heart
Gently guided, never controlled
Well balanced, well grounded
To teach by example, His role

…Millicent, he said
With tender concern
“You’ve walked this pathway
That others man learn
These life skills
Which create happiness
And to enable them
To make a SECURE FAMILY NEST…”

…Millicent thought
For a very long time
Then penned
This enlightening rhyme

‘A truly loved wife
Will bless all your days
Your most precious gift
Love and cherish her, always’
