Manu Morepork
Sat on a perch up high
Many of earth’s peoples
Were crying ‘Oh WHY’

Why this desolation
Why these earthquakes and floods
Many had lost EVERYTHING
All around them was mud

How could he answer
Amidst the anguish all around
Compassion filled his heart
When he heard the sorrowful sounds

Loss of loved ones
Children and next of kin
Cries of anguish filled the air
Who could bring solace within

.....Two big tears
Rolled onto the ground
My Father, Manu prayed
Please turn things around
